Aquatic and semi-aquatic macrophytes

Course Objective: The aim of this course is to provide a general knowledge of surveying aquatic macrophytes in lakes and rivers for the purpose of assessing ecological status, using these organisms as elements of biological quality in accord with both: EU standard methods (European Committee for Standardisation, Water quality: EN 15460, EN14184:2016) as well as a fundamental scientific approach.

Course Outcome: Students will be able to carry out survey planning and survey procedure, to collect and identify macrophytes as well as vegetation structure and to process macrophyte quantitative metrics, traits and ecological indices.
